First Edition/First Printing 1969--A stunning first print copy in near fine condition in an unclipped ($4.95) and near fine dustjacket. This copy is inscribed "To-------, The first one, I wrote it because Lee Wright of Random House said if I did--she would publish it! I did and she did." "Best Regards---Joe Gores". This copy has one lightly bumped corner and very mild age toning only--near fine. The dustjacket is unclipped with very light rubbing only--no chips or tears--near fine. Top edge is stained orange. No other interior markings. A very collectable copy of the author's first book and the winner of the Edgar Award for best new work of fiction. Additional scans available upon request.

First Printing 1978. A handsome first print copy in near fine condition in a near fine and unclipped dustjacket. This copy is warmly inscribed by the author to a book editor, " Warmest Regards". This copy is in very collectable condition--it does have a glue stain to the back pastedown and corresponding jacket flap--where the glue darkened. However, this does not affect the outer flap or any pages of the book. Otherwise in fine condition--no chips tears, or marks of any kind. Another fine DKA novel from the former detective turned novelist. Additional digital photos available.

New York M. Evans & Co. 1974 First Hardcover Fine
First Printing 1974. A handsome copy in fine condition in a near fine unclipped ($5.95) dustjacket. This copy is signed and inscribed "This is the one that I've felt always worked the best" "Warmest Regards, October 85"--by the author. There is one minute little stain to the red top edge only. The dustjacket has minor edgewear and a couple chips at the tail of the spine as well as very slight rubbing where the cloth and boards meet--only slight. A beautiful collectable copy with a great inscriptive message from the author.
