Totally clean tight, and square. In unread condition. Very collectable copy.

Page ends stained dark blue all around. Boards decorated with Civil war depiction of two soldiers in battle. Without slipcase as issued. Tight square and totally clean condition. A wonderful copy for any personal library or as a gift to a child. A classic title and classically issued by the Heritage Press.

This copy in near fine condition with only a very slight fade tot he spine. Slipcase is structurally sound--no tears at all and with only a mild fade to the extremities. Top page ends stained green. Heritage Press Edition 1940. A nice copy in very good condition of the Heritage Press Edition of 1940--complete with the slipcase--also in very good condition. Typical fading on slipcase--more so to the top--and a couple of spots--but no tears---still strong and sturdy. The book itself has also just light edgewear--top stained blue. Silver lettering to spine is still fine, however there is one stain to the bottom of the spine (see digital pic). Interior is totally unmarked, clean throughout. A very nice collectable copy with over 200 period illustrations similar to a Dickens novel of the time (Phiz).

First Heritage Press Edition 1955. The Centennial edition. First published in 1855. Near fine in a very good slipcase. Only light edgewear and toning to the spine--otherwise tight, square and totally clean throughout. Marbled boards and burgundy cloth spine with gilt lettering. Slipcase is only lightly toned also. A very collectable copy in matching slipcase. Along the lines of Dickens, "The Warden" concerns not a prison official, but the official in charge of an "Alms" hospital in England. With character names similar to those used by Dickens, "John Bold", "Abraham Haphazard"--this is a novel with underlying themes popular in 19th century England.
