The Book is in near fine condition-- green cloth boards with gilt lettering and gilt steeple bush decoration on front board. Custom matching slipcase in very good plus condition--(some edgewear to the head and the heel of the slipcase opening). Original book cover onionskin-like tissue included. A beautiful collectible copy. Signed by Robert Frost on the limitation page.

First Limited Slipcased Edition of 185 copies. This is copy number 19. Fine in a very good slipcase with minor fading and medium edgewear--still wrapped in the original glassine covering. Only opened to place original owner's bookplate on front pastedown--nicely down and attractive bookplate (probably removable). Absolutely no other flaws. Inside the book is a Jeffer's death notice from the Chicago Tribune dated 1/22/62. Very collectable limited scarce edition.

New York Harper & Brothers 1939 First Printing Hardcover Fine Fine 
From an auction of modern first editions--with a near complete collection of Millay titles--and with the auction tag tucked inside the book. A fine copy in blue boards with darker blue cloth tips and spine--on which is a paper label with title. No dustjacket. This copy is inscribed to "Caroline" and signed by Millay on the half title page. A clean and tight copy with no evidence of previous ownership. 94 pages with 3 extra leaves at the end-- custom hand made and uncut paper. Millay was a quirky yet passionate champion of many causes throughout the 20's, 30,s and 40,s--including many feminist causes. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923--and died at a modestly young age in 1950.

John Sharpe--London 1816. Inclusive Vol. I & II. Full Calf boards with gilt lettering and decorations to the spine and gilt edge outline to the front and rear boards. Marbled pastedowns and endpapers. Frontispiece with ink illustrations--vol I of the blind Milton composing Paradise Lost to his daughters and Vol. II of Milton found sleeping by an Italian Lady. Original onionskin covering illustrations. Numerous other ink illustrations from engravings throughout by Richard Westhall--most still protected by original onionskin. Vol. I contain---"The Life of Milton" - "Paradise Lost" (Books I through XII) and Vol. II contains "Paradise Regained" as well as "Samson Agonistes--A Dramatic Poem", as well as numerous other poems and sonnets, and "Select Notes on Paradise Regained". Both volumes are in very good condition, showing wear but still solid and straight. Minor repair to the spines, medium wear to spine ribbing--however gilt lettering still quite clear. Original owner's gift insert in pencil to front free paper. Vol. I has two loose pages (xv and xvi). Darkening to the top edges and foredges--slightly covers marbling. Altogether a nice two set of Milton's Works in presentable condition--worn but still handsome. Digital pics available upon request.

From a recent auction of first editions--with the auction tag still laid into the book. This copy is signed and inscribed by Teasdale to Caroline Riesor--whose bookplate is nicely fixed to the front pastedown--"With Sincere thanks, Sara Teasdale Filsinger". A near fine copy in blue limp leather with gilt titling to the spine and a full gilt top edge. 92 pp. Purple silk ribboned place marker-- just the beginning of shallow wear to the tips. Very, very scarce to find signed--and therefore, collectible.
