A very handsome and exceptional thirty-volume set in near fine condition. Some volumes dated 1859, some not dated--a couple dated 1861--but a matching set in all appearances--both inside and out. Three quarter calf over marbled boards with matching marbled edges all around. Spine in black- 5 bands. Elaborate gilt decorations--7.5" tall. A few of the volumes appear never read and are crisp and fine--mild age toning only. A few of the volumes have very mild edgewear or light rubbing to the marbled boards--but still quite exceptional condition. Hinges are strong and tight--pages clean and unmarked throughout.
