Tangerine cloth with white and black lettering. 467 pp. Front free endpaper is loose at the top. Light age toning to tangerine cloth. Dark gray top stain. Dustjacket is unclipped and lightly age toned with a bit of soiling. Tiny bit of chipping to the head and heel of the spine--otherwise a nice solid collectable copy with a bright dustjacket cover. This novel was the follow up to "Knock On Any Door" from 1947. The recounting of life whose tendency to decency are beaten down by a Chicago slum upbringing.
