First Printing. From the recently auctioned collection of well known collector M. B. Goldstone, with his penciled signature and comments to the front free endpaper. Signed by Evarts on the title page--a rare signature. Goldstone has noted that this is "an above average Western". A very good copy with a nicely done pictorial front board--including three horseback riders at full gallop--in orange and turquoise with brown lettering. Light soiling and age toning only. A sturdy copy with owners original notation and greeting to the ffep. The dustjacket is intact with a price of $1.75. The usual light chipping to the head and heel of the spine and edges--however the front panel is complete. Evarts started out as a fur trapper in Wyoming--and wrote in his cabin in his spare time--and became a prolific writer of the West.
