David Harum: A Story Of American Life (True 1st Printing)

By: Westcott, Edward Noyes

Price: $155.00

Quantity: 1 available

True first printing with unbroken type in the word "Julius" in the next to last line of page 40--as called for--extremely rare to find. This copy also has the distinctive gold bookplate of famed book collector M. B. Goldstone with his penciled signature to the front free endpaper. Along with his brother, Adrian Homer Goldstone--Steinbeck's bibliographer--Goldstone amassed a huge collection of early detective and classic fiction from 1890 to 1940. This copy is protected in glassine cover and slipcased in a matching mustard yellow case. A tight and square copy with some dustiness to the page edges and moderate soiling to the cloth boards and slipcase. Distinctive decorations to the front board and spine--white scroll work with red outline and a black emblematic motif around the scroll. A very scarce copy of a scare title.
