The Literature of Crime (Signed by Queen)

By: Ellery Queen

Price: $140.00

Quantity: 1 available

First Printing--Signed by editor Ellery Queen (Frederic Dannay) on the front free endpaper. From the recently auctioned collections of Adrian and M. B. Goldstone---this copy is signed in pencil to the front free endpaper by M. B. Goldstone and there are pencil notations throughout the first couple of pages, including the bibliography and introductions, where he is planning his collections and purchases in order to work on his library. Together with his famous brother, who was Steinbeck's bibliographer, they amassed a very impressive collection of 19th and 20th Century fiction--including crime fiction. Very good condition--moderate age toning to the text block and light tan cloth--otherwise a nice tight copy. The dustjacket price clipped but otherwise complete--with moderate edgewear and chipping to the extremities--still a colorful DJ. The stories in this collection include works by Sinclair Lewis, Pearl Buck, Millay, Steinbeck, Faulkner, Kipling, Hemingway, Dickens, Cather, Twain, Huxley, Stevenson, Thurber, and Swinnerton. Very scarce signed by Queen.
