By: Aleksandr Isaevich Solzhenitsyn

Price: $395.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Near Fine

A near-fine copy in a very good price clipped dustjacket. This copy has been signed to "John" on the half title page by Solzhenitsyn. A tight copy in black cloth with only a bit of toning to the cloth and page edges--or would be fine. The dustjacket has moderate rubbing on both panels and a tiny bit of edgewear on the head and heel of the spine. This copy comes from the personal collection of author and acquaintance of Solzhentisyn--John Stoessinger--winner of the Bancroft Prize for History who served as Acting Director for the Political Affairs Division of the United Nations. Stoessinger wrote 10 books, including "Why Nations Go To War", "The Might of Nations", "Henry Kissinger, The Anguish of Power" and "From Holocaust To Harvard". Stoessinger was good friends with Kissinger and attended Harvard with him.
